Police caution public that “organized consent fights” can lead to charges

Napanee OPP is presently investigating incidences of consent fights that are organized through social media and internet websites. These fights are being organized, videotaped and watched by bystanders who are encouraging the fighters.

OPP would like to caution the public, parents, participants, organizers and bystanders that a police investigation into a consensual fight that results in injury could result in criminal charges stemming from participating and/or facilitating such fights.

Anyone with information is asked to Napanee OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or should they wish to remain anonymous, they may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS), where they may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
