Gavin Brooks tossed a no-hitter while his Napanee Peewee Express teammates provided plenty of offense as they blanked the Newfoundland Elite 10-0 to close out Thursday’s action at the U14 Canadian Fast Pitch Championship in Stouffville.
Brady McCann got the scoring started with a single in the first and then added five more in the third with RBI from Brandon Barker, Ethan Sutcliffe, McCann and Brooks.
From the circle Brooks struck out seven over four no-hit innings.
The win was a nice way to finish the day for the Express after they dropped their first two games of the day to finish at 3-2 heading into the final day of round robin action.
Through their first five games McCann and Brooks lead the way with four RBI while Aiden Reddick has driven in three.
Brooks leads the team with two wins while Ethan Martin has the other win.
