Peewee BBs maintain first place lead in Eastern Ontario Minor Hockey League

The Napanee Country Butcher Shop Peewee BBs remain in first place in the Eastern Ontario Minor Hockey League with a lopsided 6-1 win over the County.

Six minutes in, Mason Goodfellow went five-hole from Owen Kish. Tie Wood made a fine rush to score the winner. Goodfellow got his second of the afternoon, also in the first.  The shots in the first favoured Napanee 16-2. Kohen Cutler fed Mitchel Turner from the corner to make it 4-1, and Dylan Kemp and Evan Gaffney rounded out the scoring.

On Sunday, in Stirling, they humbled their hosts 14-0. Owen Dwyer and Wood led the way with hat tricks for the Stars.

-The AFW Atoms were in Amherstview Saturday for a make-up game and eked out a 3-2 win. Brock Alaver scored from Wesley Davey late in the first. Jack Sutton had the others, both assisted by Ben Kerr.

In Brighton, at noon on Sunday, they maintained their second place league standing with a solid 7-1 win.  Colton Lockridge tallied three, while Sutton had a pair, Callen Wilson and Alaver had singles, and Kerr chipped in three assists.

-The Calderwood Automation Bantam Stars rolled 11-1 over Campbellford, and 6-0 over Stirling. Facing Campbellford, the locals were penalty free and got goals from Cameron Pearson (four), Spencer Cranley (three), Aaron Stroms, Zared Haller, Jayden Holden, and Jacob Osborne. Sam Rickard was solid between the posts.

-The Napanee Windoorman Midget BBs edged Norwood 3-2.  Norwood had two leads, but that did not deter the locals. Nolan Gunter tallied in the second frame, and Connor Brooks tied it at two in the third. Mason Barker got the winner midway in the third from Ethan Martin and Gunter.

    Sunday they topped Campbellford 5-1 at the Strathcona Paper Centre.  Oronhyathe Green put the locals on the board chipping in a rebound.  Gunter picked up a loose puck, slid it to Barker who put it over the goalie’s glove hand for the winner. Barker and Quinton Pierce had shots in close before Gunter found the back of the net. Playing short handed, Brooks sent a stretch pass to Brian Christie for their fourth, and Barker got his second from Gunter.

-The Napanee Canadian Tire Peewee AEs were upended 11-1 in Picadilly by a strong Frontenac team. Jacob Cox got their only tally. Then, on Sunday, they lost 10-3 facing Tweed.

-The Conger’s Plumbing Atom AEs were shut out 9-0 by Frontenac on Saturday. Sunday, at home to Otonabee they were outscored 8-2. Jacob Lyons had a goal and assist, while Hudson Conger got the other goal.
