Peewee BB Crunch move into top spot in the East

The Peewee BB Crunch picked up a tie and a win to move into first place in the East.

They met the Cold Creek Comets in a battle for first place on Thursday night in Colborne. The Crunch carried a 2-1 lead late into the third period but a blocked clearing attempt from the Crunch ended up on a Comet forward’s stick in the slot and the Comets were able to tie it up. Napanee’s goals came from Taryn Landine and Kristen Sutton and assists by Ava de Almeida and Claire McConnell.

The Crunch followed that game with a 1-0 victory over the Whitby Wolves on Saturday at home. Keyra Herrington earned the shutout with Sutton providing the lone goal with assists to Hailey Lay and Charley Weir. This puts the Crunch in first place in the east by 3 points.

– The Novice B Crunch shutout the Belleville Bearcats 5-0 on Wednesday night.

–  The Peewee Bs split the home and home with the Durham West Lightning.  On Saturday the Lightning won, 2-1 in their barn. Napanee then won, 2-1 at home on Sunday.

–  The Bantam A Crunch beat the Peterborough Ice Kats, 4-0 on Sunday. Meena Peterson was flawless for the shutout.

– The Bantam B Crunch tied the Otanabee Wolverines on Saturday, 1-1.  The goal was scored by Huntyr Haines, assists by Anna Hagerman and Brooke Hickerson.

They then tied the West Northumberland Wild on Sunday, 1-1. The goal was scored by Claire Whitney with assists by Abby Kish and Hannah Valleau.
