Peewee BB Crunch close out Whitby Wolves

The Napanee Peewee BB Crunch qualified to take part in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League Best of the Best Tournament, which will be held March 23-25 in Etobicoke.

The Peewee BB Crunch have qualified for the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League Best of the Best tournament.

The top six teams out of the 45 team league will compete for the championship.  They beat the Whitby Wolves in the final round of playoffs with two wins and a tie.

They closed the series out on Thursday night with a tidy 3-0 victory.

Keyra Herrington got the shutout, which included a difficult penalty shot save in the game’s opening period.

Maeve Kennedy, Megan Morsette and Kaylee Brooks each had a goal to provide more than enough offense for the Crunch.

Kristen Sutton (two), Gracie Hughes and Sydney Woodcock chimed in with assists.

The Best of the Best tournament is March 23-25 in Etobicoke.

– In tuning up for the upcoming provincial championships, the Peewee B Crunch played the Belleville Bearcats Atom A team.

Napanee looked more than ready to take on the province’s best, as the Crunch shutout their opponents 2-0.

Meredith Peters picking up the win in net. Goals were provided by Kaya Richardson and Jocelyn Masters. Hailey Bauder and Madison Parks picked up assists.

They’ll next face the Northumberland Wild on Sunday at 1p.m. on home ice at the SPC.
