Panthers too much for Raiders in season opener

Opening night didn’t go as planned for the Napanee Raiders as they dropped a 5-1 decision to the visiting Port Hope Panthers.
Riley Steeves gave the hometown crowd their lone reason to cheer, scoring at the 17:55 mark of the third.
Jeremy Piazzi took the loss, stopping 29 Panther shots. He was perfect through the first 33:33 minutes if the game before giving up the first goal. He allowed three goals in a two minute span early in the third.
