The Port Hope Panthers have emerged as winners of the PJHL Tod Division’s playdowns, advancing to a semifinal series with the top-ranked Napanee Raiders.

Both teams are currently in talks to finalize the dates and locations of the best-of-seven series.

Port Hope earned the right to face Napanee after bouncing the Frankford Huskies in five games of their best-of-seven.

Port Hope finished the regular season with a 22-17-3 record, 24 points back of the Raiders (35-5-1). In 42 games the Panthers scored 144 goals while allowing 133. Napanee had 218 goals and 105 allowed in 41 games.

Elsewhere in the league the Picton Pirates finished off the Campbellford Rebels in a four game sweep to advance to the semifinals. They’ll now take on the second-seeded Amherstview Jets in their best-of-seven series. Dates for that series are yet to be finalized as well. The Jets finished five points up on the Pirates in the regular season with a record of 26-13-3, just a bit better than Picton’s 23-15-3 finish.
