Pair of drivers face list of charges from OPP after getting cars stuck in ditch and snowbank

On Feb. 21, 2022 at approximately 10 a.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County OPP responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on County Road 11 in Greater Napanee. Officers responded to the scene and located the vehicle and driver.

As a result of the investigation, L&A County OPP arrested and charged a 26-year-old of Belleville with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs –
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 26, 2022. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

-Also on Feb. 21, at approximately 5 a.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) OPP responded to a report of a vehicle stuck in a snowbank on Fourth Street in Deseronto. Officers responded to the scene and located the vehicle and driver.

As a result of the investigation, L&A County OPP officers arrested and charged a 27-year-old of Napanee with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Two count of failure to comply with undertaking
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on March 15, 2022. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
