Get moving this summer to help animals in need with the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society’s Sweat for Pets fundraiser, which challenges people to set a personal fitness goal and raise funds to change the lives of animals in the community.

Challenges can be completed anytime and can be as unique as the individual. In celebration of the Ontario SPCA’s 150th anniversary, participants are encouraged to set a personal goal that incorporates 150. they could ride 150 kilometres on their bike over two weeks, run 150 kilometres in a month, create a team and do a combined 150 workouts – whatever inspires them.

Making a difference is as easy as setting a personal fitness challenge, registering at sweatforpets.ca and then asking friends, family and neighbours to pledge their support by donating to the fundraising page.

“Sweat for Pets is all about getting active and raising funds to help animals that need our support,” says Stephanie Miller, vice president of development for the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society. “You’ll be doing something good for your health, for the animals, and for your community.”

The Ontario SPCA is a registered charity that does not receive annual government funding and depends on generous supporters to change the lives of vulnerable animals. Funds raised through Sweat for Pets provide care and shelter to give animals a second chance.

For those up for the challenge, visit sweatforpets.ca to register, donate and change the lives of animals in need.
