A search warrant executed by the OPP at a Bridge Street residence Saturday netted over $5,000 in Canadian currency and an assortment of drugs, prohibited weapons, and stolen property.

Officers from the Napanee detachment and the community street crime units from Napanee, Frontenac, and Prince Edward County executed the warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).  In the process, they seized purple fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, cannabis marijuana, cannabis resin, money and stolen property.

Two suspects were arrested in connection with the findings.

A 33-year-old Napanee woman faces four counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purposes of trafficking and two counts of possession of a Schedule 2 substance for the purposes of trafficking, contrary to the CDSA. She also faces Criminal Code charges for failing to comply with a recognizance order (three charges), two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, one count of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

A 27-year-old Gananoque man faces a similar list of charges under the CDSA and Criminal Code of Canada, except he faces three counts of failure to comply with a probation order, rather than a recognizance order.

The accused were scheduled to appear for a bail hearing in Napanee court today.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this crime or any other is asked to call the Napanee detachment at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
