Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) have seized over 7,000 cannabis plants in Stone Mills Township.
CSCU officers, along with members of the Lennox and Addington OPP Detachment, OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed warrants on Aug. 15 at four separate locations in the Enterprise area of Stone Mills Township.
Investigators seized over 7,100 cannabis plants in total, along with over $10,000 in Canadian currency and four vehicles.
A total of 13 people were arrested in the area. They include:
- A 33-year-old of Scarborough
- A 33-year-old of Toronto
- A 70-year-old of Stone Mills Township
- A 57-year-old of Stone Mills Township
- A 77-year-old of Toronto
- A 50-year-old of Toronto
- A 34-year-old of Scarborough
- A 41-year-old of Toronto
- A 57-year-old of Toronto
- A 54-year-old of Markham
- A 33-year-old of Stone Mills Township
All of these accused have been charged with:
- Cultivating, propagating or harvesting more than four cannabis plants
- Possession of proceeds obtained by crime
A pair of 61-year-olds from of Stone Mills Township were also charged with cultivating, propagating or harvesting more than four plants.
All accused persons were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Oct. 6.
