One person was injured after a passenger vehicle and a train collided.
On July 30 at approximately 5:00 p.m., members of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to the Canadian Pacific (CP) railway crossing on Tower Road in Stone Mills Township for a report of a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a train.
Officers arrived on scene and were advised that a vehicle travelling northbound on Tower Road had entered the tracks and was subsequently struck by a westbound train, causing the vehicle to enter the ditch. The driver was ejected from the vehicle.
The driver was transported to hospital and is in stable condition.
The Stone Mills Fire Department also responded to the scene to extinguish the vehicle, which was fully engulfed.
The investigation is being continued by CP Rail.
