The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after a stolen vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle collision.
On Jan. 14 just before 2:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle collision on County Road 4. Simultaneously, officers received a call for a report of a stolen vehicle that matched the description of one of the vehicles involved in the collision.
Officers were advised that the driver of the suspected stolen vehicle had fled the scene on foot. Officers responded to the area and were able to locate the driver who was arrested as a result of investigation.
A 42-year-old of Kingston was charged with:
- Theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle
- Dangerous operation
- Failure to stop after accident
- Operation while prohibited
- Fail to comply with probation order
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
