OMA Doctors express support for Muslin, Indigenous communities

In the aftermath of the horrific crime committed against a Muslim family in London, ON, even while we are still reeling from the news of 215 Indigenous children found in unmarked graves in Kamloops, BC, the Ontario Medical Association District 7 Executive, representing physicians in KFLA and LL&G areas, wishes to express our unwavering support of our Indigenous and Muslim patients, colleagues and community members.

We believe that every single Canadian, regardless of religion, race, gender identity or socioeconomic status deserves a live free of fear and oppression.

We are here to support you, to advocate for you and to offer you compassion. We consider it our duty as health-care providers and fellow Canadians.

The OMA District 7 Executive includes Drs. Veronica Legnini, Omar Islam, Lysa Lomax, Elaina Ma, Siobhan Muldowney, Mariana Silver, Greg Baran, Sandip Sangupta and myself, Joy Hataley, together with regional director Marc Tanguay.

Joy Hataley, MD.
