Odessa man charged with impaired after vehicle collides with house

Members of the Lennox and Addington Detachment (L&A) of the Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged one person after a vehicle collided with a house on County Road 4 in Loyalist Township.

On April 29 at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers received multiple traffic complaints of a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner. The vehicle was observed driving over the traffic circle at County Road 2 and County Road 4, Loyalist Township, before hitting a nearby house.

Officers attended the scene and were advised that the driver had fled on foot prior to police arrival.

OPP Emergency Response Team and OPP Canine Unit were called to assist, however officers were able to locate the driver a short time later. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result a 35-year-old of Odessa was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration
  • Dangerous operation
  • Fail to remain

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 24, 2022. His licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

No one was injured during the collision.
