Members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment and the L&A Crime Unit of the OPP have laid charges, following an appeal to the public for assistance.
On Aug. 3, 2022, officers received reports of a suspicious male described to be in his 70s or 80s that approached a pair of young children near Mill Creek. During the interaction a criminal offence was committed. The OPP turned to social media to ask for assistance in identifying the person and vehicle involved.
As a result, Leo Godfrey, 82-years-old, from Odessa was arrested and charged with:
• Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age
• Communicate with anyone under 18 years for purpose of obtaining sexual services
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Oct. 4, 2022.
