Novice BB Stars blank Frontenac and PEC Kings

The Napanee Novice BB Stars had a very solid weekend, winning twice while shutting out their opponents.

Saturday in Picadilly, they defeated Frontenac 11-0. Sunday at home, they faced a tough Prince Edward County squad, but Mason Whalen put them in the lead to stay.  Dawson Chalk broke in from left wing, and put the puck high over the goalie’s glove in the second period. Keagan York took a feed from behind the net to complete the scoring for Napanee at 3-0.

-The Napanee Exit Realty Acceleration Bantam BBs hosted the first-place Frontenac Flyers on Saturday to gain a 4-0 shutout. Ethan Martin, Jason Cameron, Zac Slaven and Dan Chase all scored in the win. Quintan Pierce, Will Myers, Slaven and Martin also added assists. Goalie Sam Rickard earned the shutout.

-The Peewee BBs defeated Gananoque 8-2 in a solid road win on Saturday. Sunday they hosted Campbellford, controlling much of the play. Tie Wood scored three minutes in and Scott Scrimshaw got an insurance tally five minutes later. Aiden Difazio earned the shutout between the pipes.

-The Joyce’s Meats & Deli Atom BB’s continued their winning ways with an 11-0 win in Stirling. Sunday, at the SPC facing Loyalist in an exhibition contest, Matthew Airhart and Wyatt Albright each scored twice, while Sophie Fraser, Drew Osborne, and Ben Kerr had singles for a 7-0 win. Caleb Scrimshaw was between the posts for the Sunday shutout.

-The Peewee AE Stars were shut out 7-0 on the road facing Frontenac, and then in Brighton on Sunday they were outscored 7-3.

-The Atom Napanee L&A Mutual Insurance AE’s competed in the 12 team Ayr Silver Stick near Cambridge. Their first game, at 6:55 a.m. on Friday, was a 4-3 loss to Lindsay. That afternoon, they fell 4-3 to Lambeth, the eventual runners-up. They regrouped for a Saturday morning 3-1 win over Fort Erie, to finish in sixth place.

-The Midget BB’s travelled to Pickering to play in the Midget Madness A Tournament. They were close in all games, but the step up was a big one. They were edged 4-3 by Welland, and lost 4-1 to Erie on Friday. Cambridge handed them a 3-1 loss in an early Saturday tilt, before they faced Peterborough in a 4-2 defeat.
