No injuries as train strikes vehicle used attempting to flee Loyalist OPP

Train service through the region is at a standstill following a collision in Bath between a Via Rail train and a vehicle that was used in an attempt to flee from Loyalist OPP.

There were no injuries and all suspects were handed over to the custody of the Kingston Police.
Loyalist OPP were assisting the Kingston Police with locating and stopping the vehicle which reportedly struck a Kingston Police cruiser and fled this afternoon.

Officers located the vehicle traveling west bound on Hwy 401, which then exited vehicle at County Road 6 and headed south. While exiting Hwy 401, two of the male suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot. They were arrested at scene.

The vehicle continued south turning east on the rail tracks near County Road 7 and McIntyre Road north of Bath. Officers arrested the remaining three suspects. During the arrest a Via Rail Train struck the suspect vehicle. There were no injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing.
