Newburgh concert director gives thanks

The Community Christmas Concert would just like to express our love and thanks to the Community for sharing and caring on Dec. 8 at our concert. Both shows were full to the brim with people who came to share some Christmas spirit. Santa visited and all the children were given goody bags generously supported by local businesses like McCormicks in Camden East, Giant Tiger, Metro and Stone Mills Family Market in Tamworth. Local business supported the concert including King Sound Systems, Lennox Community Theatre, Battlefield Equipment and Burke Printing. Newburgh Public School and the Local Family of Schools allowed us a space to present this concert. It truly takes a village to create this special moment each year. Because of this generosity, we were able to use 100 per cent of the donations to provide over 180 local children with a complete Christmas including pajamas, clothes, socks, toques, mitts, and toys to bring a full Christmas under their trees this year. Through local business donation and from the generous people coming to the concert we raised $19,400 when all was tallied. That is a breathtaking amount of money. It certainly took our breath away!! So our deepest thanks to everyone who came, who shared, who contributed. A special thanks to this amazing cast and crew who show up every year to do this labour of love. We get as much as we give. 39 years of sharing Christmas with all of you. We are blessed.
