Mid-August is usually when over a thousand geocachers from across North America and beyond gather in Lennox & Addington County for Canada’s largest geocaching event.

While this year’s festivities have once again been postponed due to the pandemic, it doesn’t mean that geocachers are left completely empty-handed in the area.

In addition to the 1,500 geocaches that are hidden in Lennox & Addington, a new series has been introduced this summer that get the region’s geocachers exploring our area while learning about a variety of family-friendly activities at the same time.

Known as the Unspoiled Moments in L&A series, adventurers can search out caches that are tucked away in 24 unique locations within L&A. Two new themed caches will be released each week throughout the summer that take participants on a fun journey to places in L&A that they may not know about. Eighteen new caches have been released to date.

Participants following the new series use GPS coordinates that lead to a variety of agri-tourism destinations, hiking trails, stargazing areas, historic buildings, food & beverage locations, birding hot spots and many more. It’s a fun way to explore the area.
