Napanee District Skating Club promises to deliver a colourful production for its annual year-end carnival on April 8 as they perform Trolls Travel the World at the SPC.

Inspired by the smash hit DreamWorks film, which in itself was based on the popular toy line, NDSC’s carnival will cast 50 of its members for its on-ice show. That includes members of all levels, right up from beginger to Charlotte Woodall and Emily Eggleton, who will be performing their farewell skate. They’ll both have their moment in the spotlight for their graduating skate from the NDSC program.

“We’re basically tripping around the world and using the songs from the Trolls movie,” explains coach Jill Woodall.

In a twist on the film, NDSC’s show will see the trolls visiting countries around the globe.

The year end carnival serves as a final wrap up to the winter skating season for the club and allows members, both competitive and recreational, to showcase what they’ve learned from their coaches throughout the winter season. For those who don’t compete throughout the season it’s a chance to experience the thrill of a live performance. For those who follow a dedicated training routine, it’s their opportunity to show friends and family their talents.

The members have been rehearsing for the last month as they finalize the details.

Tickets for the show are $5 a person, and free for anyone 13 and under. The show will get underway at 2 p.m.

The performance will wrap up another successful winter season for the local skate club, which had about 75 members this season.
