Naturally L&A Gravel Ride rolls through county this Saturday, beware of increased cyclists

Lennox and Addington County's Naturally L&A Gravel Ride on June 8 will promote the region's mix of paved and gravel cycling routes.

Please be advised that the Naturally L&A Gravel Ride takes place on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Motorists travelling in Lennox & Addington can expect 350 cyclists participating in the ride, which utilizes a variety of paved and gravel roads in various locations in Stone Mills Township. Cyclists from across Ontario will taking part in this 2nd annual ride. This event is sold out.

The start/finish venue is A Good Farm, 2017 Centreville Road, Centreville. The event begins with registration at 9am, and participants will begin riding the 53km route beginning at 10am. OPP Auxiliary will be onsite at this location only to assist with traffic control.  From Centreville, riders head west on Centreville Road to County Road 27 and head north toward Croydon, followed by Tamworth, then taking a variety of roads northeast of the hamlet before heading to Enterprise. Participants will then head back to Centreville. The full route map is attached.

There are 6 rest stops incorporated into the ride, with many offering local food offerings from Lennox & Addington small businesses, as well as live music. There is expected to be some brief road congestion at these stops. Locations are as follows:

–          Matthews Studio, 558 Miller Road, Tamworth (busiest 10:30am – 12pm)

–          Black Cat Café, 5 Ottawa Street, Tamworth (busiest 11am – 1pm)

–          North American Gaeltacht, 298 Gilmore Road, Tamworth (busiest 12 – 1:30pm)

–          842 Rogers Road, Tamworth (water fill station only) (busiest 12:30 – 2pm)

–          Enterprise Public School, 76 School Road, Enterprise (busiest 12:30 – 2pm)

–          831 Lake Road, Centreville (water fill station only) (busiest 1 – 2:30pm)

Post ride, cyclists will enjoy more live music, as well as beverages from The Napanee Beer Company and County Bounty Soda Company. Jerry’s Food Truck will also be onsite. For more information about the event, please visit www.GravelRide.ca.
