Sharing a pair of oversized novelty scissors, Greater Napanee mayor Marg Isbester joined Shoeless Joe’s franchise owner Sukhvail Thind to cut the ribbon and officially re-open the restaurant’s Napanee location.
Members of Greater Napanee council joined Isbester for Wednesday’s ceremony, marking a rare occasion where this council was on hand for an in-person ribbon cutting.
“It just does our heart good to see things start to open, also to see something like Shoeless Joe’s that has been one of the fixtures with our SPC and with sports, supporting so many things,” said Isbester. “I just want to thank you for the faith that you have in Greater Napanee to come here.”
The new ownership group is landlord for the restaurant at 17 McPherson Dr. and is also the group behind a new hotel that is currently being developed for the front of the property.
“I’m very excited for the future for this location and for the town,” said Thind. “I’ve been welcome with open arms over the last two years I’ve spent here and I feel very excited for the future.”
