Napanee woman charged with assault

A 19-year-old Napanee woman has been charged following a Sept. 4 incident on Bridge Street in Napanee.

Officers with the Lennox & Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault that day, around 6:30 p.m.

Investigation revealed that an agitated female approached a two males who were walking to their car. The female struck one male in the face and was subsequently pushed away.

The accused will appear in Napanee court on Oct. 8.

-Early Monday morning around  2:28 a.m., officers of the Lennox & Addington OPP responded to report of a single motor vehicle collision on Hwy 401 eastbound just west of Shannonville exit.

Investigation revealed the vehicle had lost control and was upside down against the centre median. Police  subsequently arrested the driver for impaired driving who was then transported to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

A 59-year-old Niagara Falls man was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs as well as being over the legal blood alcohol limit. His licence was suspended, vehicle impounded and he’s due in court later this month.
