Napanee U15 Stars blank Centre Hastings 5-0

The Napanee Stars U15 were solid at both ends of the ice in their 5-0 shutout of Centre Hastings on the Goodyear pad Saturday. Carter Slaven got the winner in the first minute firing a shot from the right side. Mitchell Turner tallied on a feed from behind the net, and in the second period got another when given the open side of the net. Devin Robinson rounded out the scoring with blistering shots- one along the ice in the second frame, and one past the glove side in the third. Napanee outshot the Grizzles 28-26. The highlight reel included a fine stop during a breakaway by Aidan Diffazio three minutes into the contest to preserve the shutout.

Also Saturday, the Desjardin Insurance U13 squad controlled Douro 7-0. Ben Kerr set up Colton Lockridge with the winner early in the first stanza. Brock Alaver tallied when a strange shot ricocheted off Keegan York’s skate. Ben Kerr added to the onslaught picking up his own rebound. In the second, Alavar, Cooper Seaton, and Oliver Kimmett found the net before Alaver completed the hat trick. The Stars dominated with a 38-6 shot total in favour of the locals. In net, Carter Cork and Bauer Desveaux shared the light duties.

In Wellington, the Tomlinson Group U11 Stars dominated Prince Edward County 12-0. Clayton Manion earned the shutout and Cooper Plumley got the game winner. Brock Gunter and Noah Raycroft each had hat tricks, while Nathan Benn, Maddux Hartwick, Ben Babcock, Grayson Rowe, and Casey Allore chipped in singles.

Earlier, the U11’s downed Loyalist 7-2, the U15’s outscored Loyalist 5-2, and the U13’s got an 8-0 win over Frontenac and a 12-1 win over Loyalist.
