Napanee’s U15 Express will play for gold this afternoon at 2:30 p.m. after downing the host Wilmot Thunder 6-5 on Saturday night.
Napanee jumped out to a 4-0 lead through the first three innings and then had to fend off the Thunder comeback. Wilmot scored one in the seventh to make for a nervous finish, but Napanee was able to hold on.
Dylan Kemp got the win, throwing a complete game with nine strikeouts along the way. Matthew Airhart had a pair of hits to help pace the offense.
Napanee is still yet to lose at the tournament, now 8-0.
