Connor Brooks scored on the power-play with just 17 seconds left in regulation to lift the Napanee Raiders to a huge victory in their Game 4 road showdown with the Picton Pirates on Sunday.

Michael Patrick would add another just nine second later into an empty net, sealing a 5-3 Raider win to move ahead 3-games-to-1 in the best-of-seven series.

Napanee will now have a chance to close it out on home ice on Tuesday night. Puck drop is 8 p.m.

Picton led Sunday’s game 3-1 into the later stages of the second period, looking to be in good position to even the series. Ben White got the Raiders to within one with less than four minutes to go in the second period, igniting a string of four unanswered by the visitors to close out the game. Andrew Carr tied the game with just over a minute and a half to go in the second. The goal was Carr’s second of the game, both goals assisted by Brooks. That score held until the final minute of the third when the Raiders potted a pair.

Zack Brooks scored twice for Picton while Nick Kirby found the back of the net once.

Logan Vale finished with 25 saves for the win. Nick McGrayne took the loss with 40 saves.

Meanwhile on the other side of the bracket, the Port Hope Panthers have cruised to a 2-0 series lead with a pair of 7-1 wins over the Campbellford Rebels. Game 3 goes Thursday in Campbellford.
