Shortly after 2 p.m. on Sunday officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a barricaded person at a motel off of County Road 41 in Greater Napanee.
Investigation revealed that a male was inside the motel room with a person whom he was threatening to harm.
With the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), officers negotiated at scene and the victim was removed without incident. At approximately 5 p.m. the male was arrested and taken into custody.
L&A County OPP have charged Logan Gilchrist, age 22, of Greater Napanee with:
- Forcible confinement
- Assault
- Four counts of uttering threats
- Two counts of fail to Comply with release order.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee by video today.
The victim was uninjured and the investigation remains ongoing by the L&A County OPP Crime Unit.
