As Major League Baseball’s pitchers and catchers depart for the sunny climes of spring training, the Napanee Express are also getting game ready.
Lacking the tropical or desert climate however, they’ll do the next best thing: host indoor sessions throughout the month of March in area school gyms. The sessions will help young athletes gear up for team tryouts later in the spring. Pre-registration can be done at https://softballnapanee.teamsnapsites.com/spring-training/. Dates for each team and age group are as follows:
-U9 Girls – Southview Public School: Beginning on Monday March 18 at 6 pm-7:30pm
-U9 Boys – The Prince Charles Public School: Beginning on Thursday March 21 at 6 pm-7:30pm
-U11 Girls – Starting after March Break
-U11 Boys – The Prince Charles Public School: Pitchers and catcher began Jan. 30, all positions: Beginning on Tuesday, March 5 at 6pm to 8pm.
-U13 Girls – Southview Public School: Beginning on Monday Feb. 5 at 6 pm-7:30pm
-U13 Boys – The Prince Charles Public School: Beginning on Thursday Feb. 8 at 6 pm-8:00pm.
-U15 Boys – Starting after March Break.
-U17 Boys – The Prince Charles Public School: Beginning on Tuesday March 5 at 8 pm -9:50pm
