Museum to host P.A. Day program for kids this Friday

Lennox and Addington Museum and Archives.

After a busy month of exhibit changeovers, the Museum of Lennox & Addington is welcoming visitors back for a jam packed schedule full of programs and events starting Feb 3.

Featuring programs for kids and teens and an informative lecture, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the Museum this season.

February features a P.A. Day program on Friday, Feb. 3 for families, and acrylic pouring with Rhonda Evans the next day on Saturday, Feb 4. Children ages 4 – 11 can participate in the morning session at 10:30 a.m as part of the museum’s popular Museum Kids program. In the afternoon starting at 1 pm, the museum will also offer a new programming initiative called Museum Teen Takeover. The afternoon program is intended for ages 12 and up and offers more advanced techniques for participants to take part in and do not require adult supervision. Both Museum Kids and Museum Teen Takeover are free to attend, but pre-registration is required.

Later in the month on Feb. 21, Tuesday Night at the Museum returns with a talk from Cat Fisher of Quinte Immigration Services. Fisher will discuss the needs and barriers experienced by refugees coming to this region, as well as Canada’s vision for immigration in the next few years. This event will also allow exploration of the Refuge Canada exhibition, and will kick off another suite of programs all about the people, places, and cultures from around the world that have made their home in Canada.
