Young guests will have a chance to flex their creative muscle and work with their hands at this Saturday’s Lennox and Addington County Museum Kids as artist Clelia Scala drops by to lead a finger puppet making workshop.

All of the materials will be provided, the kids just need to bring their imagination.

“The kids are going to be there with their parents,” said Scala. “I’ve got a bunch of little papier-mâché heads made that they can add on to, they can turn them into characters or animals and we’ll make little felt bodies.”

When they’re done they’ll be able to take their creations home with them.

“It gives them a great opportunity to really play around,” said Scala. “They can make them as dramatic as they want or reserved as they want. They get to put their own unique spin on it.”

Scala says they’ll be able to take what they learn during Saturday’s workshop and make even more creations at home if they desire.

“The finger puppets make nice little Christmas gifts as they can also use them as Christmas tree ornaments,” she added.

Admission to Saturday’s workshop is free. The event will start at 10 a.m. Children are encouraged to wear clothes they can get dirty.
