Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Derek Sloan could be facing charges after attending an in-person gathering at Church of God in Aylmer, On.

Sloan appeared in a video that was live streamed to the church’s Facebook page, which police say had over 100 people in attendance. Under the current provincial order, indoor religious services are limited to a maximum of 10 people, and all those in attendance must wear masks and follow social distancing measures.

Sloan spoke at the event, as did Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston MPP Randy Hillier. Both have been appearing at anti-lockdown events throughout the province, including one scheduled to take place in Chatham this afternoon.

Aylmer Police say they are investigating the church gathering and will determine who will be charged later this week.
