The Loyalist Mavericks football team will be hosting a Monster Mash tonight at the Napanee Lion’s Hall, inviting students in Grade 5 through 8 to take part in the Halloween dance.
Admission is $5 at the door and guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to receive a free ticket to enter in a prize draw. A free ticket will be handed out for every single item donated.
The Mavericks have set a goal of collecting 1,000 items. They’re also expecting around 300 kids for tonight’s dance.The dance runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Money raised from the dance will go towards a Christmas Feast the Mavericks will be hosting at the Morning Star Mission on Dec. 6.
The club will keep up its goodwill this weekend at the mission to assist with stocking the shelves with the donations from Thursday night, as well as assisting with any other task around the mission.
