Erinsville’s Maddi Wheeler has recorded a point in all three of Team Canada’s games, helping the Canadians to a 3-0 record at the 2020 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship in Slovakia.

The 17-year-old forward had an assist in their 2-1 Dec. 26 win over the U.S., a goal on Dec. 27 in a 4-1 win over Finland and picked up an assist Dec. 29 in the 3-2 win over Russia.

Team Canada will be back in action tomorrow when they take on Finland in the tournament’s semifinal. Game time is 6:30 a.m. eastern time.

The finals will take place Jan. 2 with bronze set for 6:30 a.m. and the gold medal game at 2:30 p.m.

Last year at this tournament, which was held in Japan, Wheeler scored the ‘golden goal’ to lift Canada to victory over the U.S. in the finals.
