Erinsville’s Maddi Wheeler has been named to Hockey Canada’s Development team, which will train with Canada’s National’s Women’s team Aug. 7-9 as part of preparations for the IIHF Women’s Worlds.
The 18-year-old graduate of NDSS is currently a member of the University of Wisconsin Badgers. Last season she helped the Badgers to the NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey Tournament Championship.
Wheeler has previously represented Canada twice at the World Juniors U18 Championship, scoring the game winner in the gold medal game in 2019.
