An interesting service was held in Switzerville United Church when the newly installed electric lights were dedicated to Christian worship.
The cost of the installation was assumed by Rev. Claude Brethen of Woodville in memory of his parents.
-Hearing of the evidence of a Kingston man, charged with dangerous driving, was postponed one week at the request of the counsel for the man who was trying exams the previous week.

North Fred’s John McDonald was named the 1990 warden for the County of Lennox and Addington.
He cited progress and aggressive government as his main objectives heading into the new year.
-While Napanee council carried on with business as usual, a delegation of three met with Napanee developer Gordon Hawley behind closed doors in council chambers to clarify their objections expressed concerning a proposed 140-unit condominium in town.
Slated directly north of Jubilee Apartments along Camden Road, the project was scheduled to break ground in the summer of 1990.
Resident’s main concerns with the building was its height and the proposed 10-12 per cent increase to pay for water and sewage upgrades.
-Five people in Harlow, north of Kaladar, were being treated for rabies after coming in contact with an infected cat.
The cat was shot and tested for rabies. Results from Ottawa showed the cat tested positive for rabies leading to a community wide search for persons who may have come into contact with the animal.
-After 50 years in the business, Richmond resident Dorland Wood was hanging up the scissors and dumping the disinfectant barbicide to begin retirement at the age of 77. The one time school teacher began cutting hair as a hobby before making it his full time profession.
-Former Chicago Blackhawks was on hand for the opening of Harvest Mills Meats in Napanee to sign autographs.
