Local artists help raise $1,100 for Napanee Community Kitten Rescue, through Lisa Ray Koenig’s artist endeavours – Groovy Cats- along with contributions of artwork from local Rivers Edge Art District artists, Lynn Barnett and Joanne Kells Chalmers.

The idea was to donate 50 per cent of the sales from their artwork that was on display for sale at Pet Panache in downtown Napanee. Koenig donated 100 per cent of sales from her Groovy Cats paintings.

The $1,100 donation will go towards the purchase of a nebulizer in memory of Koenig’s sweet boy Oscar the cat. A nebulizer is used for the cats who develop lung diseases such as pneumonia, and asthma. The nebulizer is a machine that aerosolizes medicine into a fine mist. This allows medications to be given through the air. It also allows cats that cannot breathe to be misted for ease of administering needed medications.
