Country music band Ambush will rock the Napanee Lions Hall stage for a good cause on May 12.
Hosted by the Napanee Lion’s, the concert will serve as a fundraiser for Addictions and Mental Health Services Kingston Frontenac Lennox and Addington.
“It’ll go directly to help people with whatever they need,” said Doreen Heaslip, a member of the Napanee Lion’s Club. “We’ve never worked with mental health before but it just seems like there’s a big need (in the community for it). Everybody has a story.”
Tickets for the show are $20 in advance and available now at the Lions Hall or October’s Clothing, located at 8 Dundas Street E in Napanee. Tickets will be sold for $25 at the door the night of the show.
“Just having that additional money through the donations would allow us to buy food, help with transportation,” said Stacey Dowling, manager of rural services for AMHS-KFLA. “Some of those basic necessities that are not often covered by ODSP or Ontario works.”
Along with raising funds, Dowling says the concert will also be a great way to spread awareness for what they do in the community.
“We do have services accessible to the community,” said Dowling. “Crisis is always available, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and a walk in service is available during day time hours.
People can just walk in without an appointment to meet with a crisis worker and then we have longer term services which can be accessed as well.”

The May 12 show will get underway at 8 p.m. The Lion’s Hall is located at 57 County Rd. 8 in Napanee.
