The long awaited return to live theatre at Selby’s Lennox Community Theatre is scheduled for May 26-29.

The theatre has survived the COVID-driven shutdown and is pleased to announce a four-show run of a one-act play, “The Circle”, by local playwright Andy Palmer.

There will be evening performances on May 26, 27 and 28 –note the start time of 7:30 p.m. The show on Sunday May 29 will be a matinee at 2 p.m. The show is approximately one hour long with no intermission or refreshments. At the time of printing, masks are no longer required but are strongly encouraged.

The cast features Nicole Butler, Jackie Stuive and Andy Palmer under the direction of experienced director, Maureen McDonald. This original script tells the story of Philip Armstrong, Elizabeth Davis and Sandra Davis. Philip has recently returned to his hometown after a long and stellar career in international aid. He finds some things are familiar and others not so much. There are also some surprises he was not at all ready for. Elizabeth has stayed in the hometown and has proven highly successful both in business and in philanthropy, but she knows that there are closet doors that should not be opened. Sandra, Elizabeth’s daughter, is a partner in a CPA firm, very successful, ambitious and driven. And yet…

These have been challenging times for the theatre. Being able to open back up this spring will help them plan for next season. All being well, the theatre directors hope to start off the fall of 2022 with a full three-week run of The Dixie Swim Club, which was ready to roll when COVID hit. For this show, tickets are $20 and are available through Eventbrite online. The link is on the Theatre website at lennoxtheatre.ca. If the tickets do not sell out online, seats will be available at the door a half hour before show time on a first come basis. Those not able to join but still want to make a donation can do so cheque or online through paypal on the LCT website. Charitable receipts can be issued for amounts of $20 or more.
