Law Enforcement Torch Run a hit

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all those who participated in this years Law Enforcement Torch Run despite the rain. The weather did not dampen our spirits any, as we remembered Lionel Taylor, and raised awareness and funds for Special Olympics Ontario.

Many thanks to members of the Eastern Region Ceremonial Unit and piper, John MacKay, who led the procession of athletes, coaches, volunteers, law enforcement personnel and local firefighters through Greater Napanee. Law enforcement personnel in attendance included officers from Bath Institution, Quinte Detention Centre, Greater Napanee OPP, Kingston City Police, Peel Regional Police, East Region OPP and Stirling-Rawdon Police. To ‘DJ John’, thanks for the music. To Tammy, Lindsay and Rebecca, thanks for helping with the barbecue. Ray Virgin and Giant Tiger staff, thanks again for your continued support.

I would like to send a very special thanks to Constable Stacey Campbell, who has supported me over the years in organizing the local LETR. Stacey and I share a special friendship that is built on our passion for our special athletes. It is they who have inspired us to what we do for Special Olympics Ontario.

Congratulations to the top pledge winners: Marshall, Roger/Carrie and Felicia. Over $1,400 was raised for Special Olympics Ontario. A job well done!
