LACGH updates parking to provide spaces for patients undergoing chemo, day surgery

On Feb. 8 the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital (LACGH) updated its designated accessible permit parking space signage.

The new signage allows for patients who are undergoing chemotherapy, and those who just had a day surgery procedure, to park or be picked up close to the hospital entrance. This change was influenced by patient and caregiver feedback that highlighted the temporary accessibility challenges experienced by these outpatient groups.

Two spaces near the main entrance are now reserved for those with an accessible parking permit or for picking up/dropping off patients coming to LACGH for day surgery procedures. Four spaces, spread between the main entrance area and the emergency entrance area are now reserved for those with an accessible parking permit or attending a chemotherapy appointment. In addition to these changes, LACGH will add two new accessible permit/chemotherapy spaces once the ground is thawed.
