Retired teacher and member of Lennox and Addington Seniors Outreach Services Juanita Everett presented L&A SOS program director Diane Talas with a cheque for $3745 to be put towards the construction of four horseshoe pits on the west lawns of L&A SOS. The grant was awarded through the RTOERO District 20 Services to Others Community Grant. L&A SOS staff say they are thrilled to add a horseshoe program to their roster. “We really hope our members will enjoy playing out here,” said Talas. “It takes us back to simpler times when we used to gather outside, enjoying summer and getting together over the toss of a few horseshoes.” Construction is set to begin in early July and with a little (horseshoe) luck, games will begin shortly thereafter.
