L&A OPP recover nearly 500 pills stolen from Amherstview business

The Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Lennox and Addington County (L&A) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after executing a search warrant at an address in Kingston.

On May 18th, 2022 at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers were contacted about a possible theft of narcotics from a business in Amherstview.

As part of the investigation, a search warrant was executed on May 19 at an address on Horizon Drive in Kingston, and nearly 200 suspected hydromorphone pills, almost 40 suspected hydromorphone vials, more than 200 suspected oxycodone pills, and almost 50 suspected lorazepam pills were seized.

A 40-year-old of Kingston was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on July 5, 2022.
