L&A OPP charge three drivers with impaired

The Lennox and Addington (L&A) OPP has charged three drivers in impaired driving related investigations.

On July 4, just before 8:30 p.m., officers were patrolling County Road 41 in Greater Napanee when they observed a vehicle stunt driving. A traffic stop was conducted and officers spoke to the driver who was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result, Dylan Vinkle, age 27, of Central Frontenac was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed

On July 6, 2024, just before 10 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 1 in Stone Mills Township. Officers observed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result, Cory Johnston, age 43, of Napanee was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

On July 8, 2024, just after 12 a.m., officers responded to a report of a possible motor vehicle collision after a loud noise was heard on Camden Road in Greater Napanee. Officers attended the area and located the vehicle. Officers spoke to the driver who was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result, Joshua Hill, age 20, of Napanee was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

All accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date. Their licences were suspended for 90 days, and vehicles were impounded for seven days.
