Lennox and Addington County Paramedic Services has announced a three-year partnership with Medavie Health Services for the management of paramedic services.
“We are proud of the service our paramedics provide to our residents and see this as an opportunity to continue to be on the leading edge of safety and care for the communities we serve,” says L&A County warden Henry Hogg. “Medavie Health Services and Lennox Addington County have a shared commitment to providing the highest level of paramedic services to communities. We are confident that this partnership will build on the success of our team, while continuing to support enhanced service delivery models like our community paramedicine program.”
Lennox and Addington County Paramedic Services will continue to deliver high-quality emergency medical and paramedic services to the residents of Addington Highlands, Stone Mills and Loyalist and the town of Greater Napanee. All unionized paramedics and paramedic managers will continue to be employees of the County and will now be managed by Medavie Health Services in accordance with the applicable collective agreement(s) and policies and procedures established by the County.
“At Medavie Health Services, our purpose is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and families through the delivery of high-quality care,” said Erik Sande, president of Medavie Health Services. “We look forward to working in collaboration with Lennox and Addington County to build on the success of the team, while evolving and enhancing community care solutions into the future.”
The effective date of the transition is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023. There will be no interruption of service as the management transition takes place and patients requiring paramedic support should continue to call 911.
