The Lennox & Addington Poverty Reduction committee is committed to raising awareness of poverty issues within Lennox and Addington and actively address community needs. This committee is comprised of stakeholders from various community agencies and community members within L&A.
Agencies within our community provide various programs for those living in poverty, these programs includes our annual boot campaign. This campaign assists families living in poverty with access to resources to assist their children, this years (2018) campaign has received over 300 registrations for boots across L&A.
These are school-aged children who, without the support of the annual boot drive, will not have adequate footwear for the cold, snowy months ahead. This inhibits the opportunities and the activities that these children can participate in during the winter, sometimes including their basic needs and rights such as making it to school.
The Lennox and Addington Poverty Reduction Committee is looking for monetary donations in order to fill the large need of the L&A region.
If you are able to help donations can be made out to the “Napanee Area Community Health Centre -Boot Drive.”
We thank you for your assistance to assist in our efforts to eradicate poverty in Lennox and Addington, and provide the basic needs of the communities’ children and youth.
This is a large undertaking, which cannot be done without the support of our friends and neighbours. We continue to work together to have a cohesive community that is supportive of one another.
