Kramp-Neuman announces $1.5 million in funding for Canada Summer Jobs coming to the riding

Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Shelby Kramp-Neuman

Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Shelby Kramp-Neuman is announcing nearly $1.5 million in funding coming into Hastings-Lennox & Addington through the Canada Summer Jobs program.  The program will provide 178 employers with wage subsidies to support 430 jobs. These jobs (in private, not-for-profit and public sector organizations) will provide youth aged 15-30 with quality work experience and much-needed funds to support their education and other endeavours.

Kramp-Neuman said she was “thrilled to see so many applications come in from every corner of the riding.” After speaking directly with many of the employers, Kramp-Neuman confirmed that she heard a consistent message – that the program contributes greatly to the prosperity of communities by supporting local businesses and giving young Canadians some of the skills and income they need for a bright future.  She called the funding news a “tremendous incentive for our youth” and shared that she is “excited to meet with some of them once they get started in their new positions.”
