KFLA reports six new COVID-19 cases, biggest one day total in a month

KFLA Public Health reported six new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, it’s biggest one day total since Oct. 9.

The recent rise in cases brings the total number of active cases to 11.

All of the new cases were female-two age nine and under who had been in close contact with a previous known case, one female in her 50s, one in her 40s and two females in their 20s. One of the females in their 20s and the female in her 40s were in close contact with a previously known case while the others were under investigation.

One previous case was reported as resolved.

On Saturday the local health unit reported five new cases followed by one on Sunday. Prior to this weekend the number of active cases hadn’t reached double digits since Oct. 15.

KFLA’s total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is now at 195, of which 184 have been resolved with no deaths. The community remains under ‘green’ status.
