KFLA Public Health reports eight new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, active case count at 84

KFLA Public Health noted eight new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, with four new recoveries to place the active case count in the region at 84 heading into the weekend.

The latest cases involve a female, age 18 to 29, close contact, a female in her 50s, under investigation, three males age 18 to 29, under investigation, a male age 18 to 29, travel related and two males in their 50s, under investigation.

Four new variants of concerns have been confirmed and one new health care worker was among those who tested positive. 

KFLA Public Health also reported one new hospitalization due to COVID-19. Currently three residents of KFLA are listed as requiring a stay in a hospital due to COVID-19, two of which are in the ICU, one of those requiring ventilation.

Since the start of the pandemic there have been 1,285 reported cases in KFLA, 1,199 of which have recovered. Two people have passed away due to COVID-19 in the region.
