KFLA Public Health announces four new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, active case count at 17

KFLA Public Health saw four new COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the active case count in the region up to 17.

The latest cases are a female in her 30s, outbreak-related (OB), a female age 18 to 29, OB, a female in her 40s, OB and a male age 18 to 29, under investigation.

Four people remain in hospital due to COVID-19, one of which is in the ICU on a ventilator.

Three health care workers were identified in previously reported cases and two new variant of concern cases were confirmed.

Just over half KFLA’s population age 18 and older-51.1 per cent-is fully vaccinated, while 48.2 per cent of those 12 and older have had two doses. Those with one shot make up 78.1 per cent of the population.

Since the start of the pandemic KFLA has seen 1,574 total cases with 1,553 recoveries and four deaths.
